Project Engineer – Traffic
The Markosky Engineering Group has an immediate need for a Project Engineer in our Traffic Department.

In our over 22 years in business, we have built long-lasting and successful relationships with clients from offices in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. The successful candidate will be based in one of our offices (Ligonier, PA or Steubenville, OH). Markosky is currently working in a hybrid work environment. Occasional travel to each office will be required.
This position is responsible to perform design and coordination tasks on projects to ensure that the goals or objectives of the projects are accomplished, under the direction of the Traffic Department Manager and/or Project Manager. Assume some task management and technical supervision of others.
Apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to broad variety of assignments and related fields
Work with Project Manager to lead and coordinate design tasks
Perform design activities
Review developed plans for compliance with project requirements
Manage smaller design activities
Provide direction to less experienced engineers and designers
Manage plan development / presentation by CADD technicians
Schedule, lead off-site meetings
Coordinate with consultants and / or clients
Prepare cost estimates
Prepare job and material specifications
Resolve problems / questions during contract bidding process and construction
Assume some task management duties
Take responsible charge of design activities
Other projects / responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
Training Requirements (licenses/programs/certificates): Professional Engineer (PE)
Civil, highway and/or structural design and software
Working knowledge of CADD
Knowledge of engineering principles, design standards and codes
Previous PennDOT experience is required
Familiarity with PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike Commission design standards is a plus
Past Project experience with traffic signal design, and capacity analysis (HCM and Synchro/SimTraffic)
Good oral and written communications required
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Experience: 4 – 10 years

Pay: $87,000.00 – $132,000.00 per year
